about the author + artist

I like to draw. I want to write. Writing is hard, but drawing is easy. Oh, that’s an idea. What if I draw out what I can’t write; the scene, the characters, the technology? Oh, I’m having another idea. Would people be interested in those drawings? In the concept art for my novel?

…kind of like a video game art book…but for a book…

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I arrived at my capstone project. A stream of thoughts poking at a way to connect three things I love-drawing, writing, and looking at video game art books.

Of course, writing a whole ass fantasy novel while creating a whole ass art book for said novel would not be feasible in a mere three month semester. So instead, I decided to apply the idea to a favorite sci-fi novel of mine-Red Rising. This way, I could have an example product done by the semester and experience for myself to be able to apply when I wrote my novel.

Those aspects of myself are things you probably inferred though. Maybe you’re curious about other parts of me. Although a college student at the University of Michigan, you'll find me on Valorant until the pleasant early hours in the morning (4:00am haha...ha). My love-hate relationship with that game is forever pulling me back to it. But don't worry! I have some culture left in me and enjoy Baldur’s Gate 3. Apart from video games, I'll be smashing the piano like a true percussionist and staining my drawing paper with my  tears like a true artist.
